My mother used to make me watch Godzilla and Ultraman on the black and white TV, so she could watch the Dinah Shore and Mike Douglas shows on the color set.  Created by underwater atomic tests, Godzilla wreaks havoc on Tokyo as an expression of atomic angst by the only people to truly understand the horror of nuclear war.
